Do some research on Semi-Custom boats and I would like to find a resource that talks about the advantages of a semi-custom verses a boat off of the production line.

There is a great article in the most recent addition of "Soundings".  For me the ability to modify interior space made my 90 nights aboard RUNAWAY JURY this season a complete joy.  There are a lot less compromises with a semi-custom boat like a Fortier.  For us, the removal of the stateroom bulkhead gave us an open concept and the interior feel of a 40 footer.  We don't have over night guests so it works perfectly.  With a production boat you will keep searching manufacturers until you find the least set of compromises and then minor details that can add to the quality of your boating just can't be made.  I actually love seeing how other Fortier boats have been layed out.  While some focus on serious fishing, ours is designed for long range cruising, but from any distance you know it is a Fortier.
